House & Building Design:
From a young age, I was captivated by the art of architectural drawing. I would spend hours with large sheets of paper, a pencil, ruler, and eraser, sketching imaginative floor plans for homes. Those early designs, which I still cherish, remind me of the joy I found in creating spaces from pure imagination.
As my passion evolved, I transitioned to designing on the computer. In 2011, I brought one of my visions to life with my first entirely original custom home in 2012. That experience opened doors—quite literally—when a North Vancouver couple, inspired by my design, invited me to create a custom home for them.
In 2020, during the pandemic, I found inspiration once again when we discovered a beautiful piece of land beside a creek. It became the canvas for our current home, "Summerfell," completed in 2022. That same year, I had the honor of designing a beachfront home in Powell River for dear friends, which has since become their cherished summer retreat.
Architectural drawing continues to be one of my favorite hobbies—a creative outlet where imagination and design come together to shape meaningful spaces.

Philanthropy:
From an early age, I discovered the joy of giving back. It began with visits to care homes, where I would play piano and sing for the residents, brightening their days with music. As a teenager, my sense of purpose deepened through outreach work with Youth With A Mission (YWAM), traveling across Australia and New Zealand to serve communities in need. In New Zealand, our group partnered with young juvenile offenders emerging from rehabilitation to build a kindergarten on Maori land—a project that brought healing and hope to many.
In later years, my passion for service found a new outlet through Habitat for Humanity. I had the privilege of traveling to Honduras to help build a home for a family of six who had been living in a single room. The hard work—digging trenches, laying bricks—was immensely rewarding, as was the connection forged with the family and fellow volunteers. On another trip to Trinidad and Tobago, I worked alongside a blind man to build his first independent home, an experience that remains close to my heart.
Even our wedding became an opportunity to give back: instead of gifts, we invited guests to donate to Habitat for Humanity. While COVID delayed our plans, my husband Kane and I remain committed to traveling to Central America to complete another Habitat build.
Closer to home in Vancouver, as a member of Rotary Vancouver Waterfront, I am involved in many community programs, including regular meal preparation and service for residents in partnership with Whole Way House. Giving, to me, is as essential as receiving. Beyond volunteering, I generously donate to causes that are important to me, including my local church community, World Vision, and international Christian organizations. Supporting these initiatives allows me to contribute to meaningful work that uplifts individuals and communities around the world.
As I reflect on the many blessings in my life, I am inspired to extend that blessing to others—building lives, homes, and connections that endure.
